The filming of the new season of Beijing Express has once again been interrupted after a terrible traffic accident in Turkey. As revealed by our colleagues from Télé Loisirs this Thursday, October 1, an 82-year-old man was killed after losing control of his car and crashing into two vehicles participating in the M6 program.
In the first were the driver, a cameraman and a team of two candidates. In the second were installed a driver and two members of the production, says the news site. The police report drawn up following the accident indicates that the broadcast crews are in no way responsible.
Filming already suspended because of Covid-19
The octogenarian, taken to hospital, did not survive his injuries. Some members of the Beijing Express team were injured, including the two participants. One was briefly hospitalized and given stitches. The duo of candidates have been repatriated to France and are no longer in the race, whether it is still unclear whether it has resumed normally or not. Télé Loisirs indicates that psychological support was offered to them by the production of the game.
The shooting of season 14 of Beijing Express had already been suspended due to the health crisis and its route had to be changed. The start of the adventure was canned in South Africa and restarted in Turkey a few days ago.
The Stéphane Rotenberg accident in 2012
This is not the first time that the program has experienced a traffic accident. In 2012, Stéphane Rotenberg was violently struck on a road in the Philippines while driving a sidecar. The host had suffered a serious head injury but was able to resume filming.
